ProBono

Probono responsive

Access to a lawyer is a powerful tool to break down the barriers to access to justice and, thus, contribute to the construction of a more just and equitable society. With this conviction, our team actively participates in the representation and legal advice of those who do not have sufficient resources to pay for these legal services.

Since 2017, we have been part of the ProBono Colombia Foundation, through which we provide free legal advice. We are signatories of the Declaration of Pro Bono Work for the American Continent promoted by the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice of the New York City Bar Association with the purpose of making access to justice a reality in the hemisphere.

Job Pro Bono in Territory

Our firm is committed to achieving access to justice in all regions of our country. This is why, together with the Pro Bono Colombia Foundation, we assist legal brigades carried out in different territories, in order to provide legal advice to those who do not have the means to access a lawyer.

Pro Bono Colombia Foundation Awards and Nominations

“That is one of the things that the Pro Bono Foundation does, but not the only one,” says Carolina Ariza, a lawyer and partner at the Medellín-based firm Ariza & Marín. She has been one of the pioneers in bringing this voluntary work to the capital of Antioquia, and one of the arguments she uses to invite other colleagues, companies and firms to join the initiative is that “one person alone cannot achieve the impact that the foundation has.” (August, 2023).

Created in 2018 as part of our corporate social responsibility program, the Ariza & Marín Scholarship allows an outstanding young person to pursue an undergraduate law program at Eafit University, with full coverage of educational and living costs.
